Weather.com is predicting a high chance of rain both Monday and Tuesday right now (Sat. 9PM) with a just 30% chance on Wednesday, but with wind.
So I'll schedule both a Thursday and a Friday ride this week, but if Wednesday's weather forecast improves, we will add a ride after the monthly snowbird meeting. A suggestion I was given was to have lunch together after the meeting, somewhere in the Destin area, then do our ride afterwards. Works for me. We'll make that determination later when we see what the weather will be for Wednesday.
Thursday, February 14
We'll try again for the Rosemary Beach ride today. Meet at 11AM at Shades, the restaurant at the easternmost end of #30A in Rosemary Beach. We'll ride along the bike path through Rosemary Beach, Alys Beach and into Seacrest or Seagrove 5 miles and then back to Shades for lunch. Please go to comments at the end of this week's post and RSVP under Thursday's ride if you plan to come.
Friday, February 15
Meet up in Freeport at 11AM in the library parking lot, as usual. We'll ride 10-12 miles and have lunch at TJ's afterwards. Please go to comments at the end of this week's post and RSVP under Friday's ride if you plan to come.
Wednesday, February 13 TBD Ride

OK, I did it last week, but was confused (not the first time)by the e-mail reply section. I'd be up for an afternoon ride on Wednesday. Chris

Updated weather.com shows rain holding off until 3PM: http://www.weather.com/weather/hourbyhour/graph/Miramar+Beach+FL+USFL0621:1:US
DeleteFL rain tip: If it starts to rain, take shelter for 20 minutes instead of riding home in it. Because after you dry off your bike and yourself, most assuredly the sun will come out.
DeleteMany thanks to weather.com which showed 0% of rain for our ride time.

Hi guys,
ReplyDeleteWe talked about adding a ride tomorrow (Sat.) but I checked weather.com and now rain and wind are predicted. 40% chance of rain at 11AM and winds 16 mph. I'd hate for us to get out there and get rained on (believe me, been there done that this week and it's not fun.) Sorry, everyone! (And really sorry, Ron and Carol!!)
Weather Update: Weather.com now has rain ending early this morning, but 18-19 mph winds developing by 11AM. I'll schedule an 11AM Kelly Plantation ride with lunch afterwards if there is enough interest in riding despite the wind. If it proves too windy, we can always cut the ride short and just go eat. If at least 6-8 people want to ride, let me know.
